I Am A Builder Of People
For more than two decades, my life and career have centred on building - businesses, teams, capability, discipline, and ultimately, people.
My path has combined academic discipline, corporate experience, entrepreneurship, elite sport, and leadership within the fitness industry. Each of those arenas taught the same lesson from a different angle… sustained high performance is never accidental. It is built.
Foundations In Discipline And Thinking
I hold a First-Class Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and a First-Class Honours degree in Law from the University of Adelaide.
This training shaped how I approach performance today - analytically, deliberately, and with a deep respect for structure, accountability, and execution.
My early career in the corporate sector exposed me to leadership inside complex environments before I stepped fully into entrepreneurship.
Building Businesses From The Ground Up
Entrepreneurship became the arena where theory met application.
I built a sports supplement retail business, MassiveJoes (and later MJ Fitness), from the ground up into an enterprise generating over $10,000,000 in annual revenue, learning firsthand what it takes to grow, scale, and sustain a business through multiple stages of development.
I later built an activewear brand, TMJ Apparel, from nothing into a seven-figure company, navigating the challenges of brand creation, product development, and market positioning.
Alongside these ventures, I launched my own supplement brand, Key, and continue to operate within the performance health space I have been part of for most of my life.
These businesses were not built in ideal conditions. They were shaped through risk, uncertainty, setbacks, and the discipline required to continue moving forward.
Performance Beyond Business
Parallel to my work in business, I pursued elite competition in bodybuilding, earning my IFBB Professional status and becoming the first Australian Men’s Physique Professional to compete at both the Pittsburgh Pro and New York Pro.
These milestones were the result of decades of structured training, discipline, and personal accountability, and reinforced a principle that applies equally to business and life:
Standards drive outcomes.
You do not rise to the level of your ambition.
You fall to the level of your standards.
I continue to compete on the international IFBB Professional circuit, maintaining my commitment to athletic performance at the highest level.
Contributing To The Industry
My involvement in the fitness industry extended beyond business and personal competition.
I played a significant role in helping build the IFBB Pro League in Australia into what is now the country’s premier physique-based competitive federation, contributing to the development of the sport’s professional pathway locally.
Sharing The Work
As my focus shifted increasingly toward leadership and personal development, I created the In Pursuit podcast (formerly the Fitness x Business podcast) as a platform to explore the deeper realities of performance, leadership, and personal development. Built from the ground up, it has grown to reach a global audience and millions of downloads.
Tested Through Challenge
The most defining periods of my life were not marked by growth, but by challenge.
A marriage breakdown in 2018 forced me to confront my own development and prioritise mental health, working with a clinical psychologist and committing seriously to practices such as journaling, meditation, and Stoic philosophy.
Soon after, COVID disrupted my businesses, eliminating millions in projected revenue while debt and personal pressures mounted.
Rather than retreat, I scaled back, rebuilt deliberately, and reinvested personal capital heavily to stabilise the company and protect its future.
It was a period that tested every assumption about resilience, leadership, and responsibility.
Those years cemented a belief that now underpins everything I do… you can only ever control your actions, your responses, your effort, and your attitude. You simply have to accept everything else.
Why This Work Matters Now
Across engineering, law, corporate leadership, entrepreneurship, elite sport, and adversity, one truth became clear… success in any domain relies heavily on personal development.
Strategy matters. Opportunity matters. But the deciding factor is always the individual - their standards, identity, and capacity to carry responsibility.
That understanding is what led me into mentoring, consulting and speaking.
Today
Today, I bring together decades of business ownership, leadership, and personal development to work with business owners, executives, and professionals who are ready to grow into their next level of responsibility and performance.
My work integrates strategic thinking with identity-driven development to help my clients create harmonised excellence across profession, health & fitness, family, and self.
Because the real work is not just building better businesses or careers.
It is building the person capable of sustaining them.
