Discipline Is Just A Decision Made In Advance
Most people think discipline is a personality trait.
You either have it… or you don’t.
Right?
Wrong.
Discipline is a skill.
And like any skill, it can be developed through intentional practice.
By doing what needs to be done, especially when you don’t feel like doing it.
And that always starts with a decision made earlier.
You decide when you’re going to train.
You decide what work matters most today.
You decide what you won’t negotiate with yourself about.
So when the moment arrives, the decision is already made.
No debate.
No bargaining.
No “maybe tomorrow.”
All that’s left is execution.
If you want to develop the skill of discipline, stop relying on willpower in the moment.
Make the decision before the moment arrives.
Then execute.
Especially when you don't feel like it.
