Happiness Is The Way
We convince ourselves that we will be happy after we get married, buy a house, have a kid (or 2), get that dream job, start that business, buy a new car, lose 10kg of fat, put on 5kg of muscle…
Then we are frustrated that our marriage takes more effort than we thought it would, that we now have a huge mortgage, that the kids are hard work, that the dream job isn’t so dreamy, that the business is taking longer to thrive than we expected, that the new car isn’t so new anymore, that we’re too skinny, that we’re too bulky.
Surely we will be happy when all of these things are behind us and life just starts coming together the way we always hoped it would.
The truth is, the only time to be happy is right now.
Life will always be filled with challenges. Obstacles will always stand in the way. It's best to accept this and choose to be happy anyway.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
There is no way to happiness.
Happiness IS the way.
So celebrate the good times and embrace the struggles.
Work as if you don't need money.
Learn as if you know nothing.
Love like you've never been hurt.
And dance like no one's watching.
While always remembering that it all just eventually becomes just the blink of an eye.
If you know someone who would benefit from reading this, please forward it to them. It may change the trajectory of their life for the better, and the catalyst could be you.
