But it’s also lazy as fuck on the part of the imitator.

You can become good by copying what others have done.

You can become excellent by innovating on what others have done.

But if you want to become truly great, you have to blaze the trail that others follow.

You have to write the script that others read.

You have to have original vision, and the courage to see that vision through with no guarantee of success.

Oscar Wilde said it best;

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.”
