People Will Think You're Crazy

People Will Think You're Crazy

And then they’ll think you got lucky.

Fuck what people think.

I remember when I turned my back on my corporate career to commit to my online supplement business full time, I was literally laughed at. You know, the kind of uncontrollable chuckle that people let out when they think you’re joking.

Then as I started to gain some real traction, it was all about how lucky I got with my timing.

I remember when I accepted the opportunity to promote the IFBB Pro League in South Australia and we had only 9 athletes and less than 100 spectators at our first show, I was mocked. Not just behind my back, but directly to my face too. Who did I think I was to challenge the status quo of bodybuilding and the way shows were organized and run?

Then as our shows started to gain momentum, it was all about how lucky I got with the timing of the opportunity and the growth of the sport.

I remember when I decided that I wanted to try and turn pro as a Men’s Physique athlete and represent Australia by competing all over the world, people thought I was crazy. And they weren’t afraid to tell me and others about it. No way could a kid from Adelaide dream so big. No way could I mix it with the best in the world.

There’s no avoiding other people’s opinions when you diverge from the conventional journey to pursue your passion.

In fact, it’s a rite of passage.

It’s designed to test your courage.

It’s designed to test your conviction.

It’s designed to test your grit.

It’s the first of many tests along way designed to see how bad you really want what you say you want.

So… how bad do you really want it?
