Sometimes You Have To Zoom Out
I’ve been staying at a hotel this week that is remarkable.
It’s in the middle of a big, dense, busy city, yet it’s quiet & tranquil.
It’s about 20 storeys tall, so it’s definitely nowhere near the biggest building in the city, yet it has a presence that is disproportionate to its size.
The first 5 levels are dedicated to the forest.
The next 5 levels to the beach.
The next 5 levels to the garden.
And the top 5 levels to the sky.
Each part of the hotel is incredibly impressive in its own right, but not really extraordinary up close.
It’s really only when you step back and look at it from afar that you appreciate how truly remarkable it.
The same is often true for our lives.
We dedicate different parts of ourselves to our family, our work, our fitness, and our personal development. And although each part may be impressive when we look at it in isolation, it’s only when we zoom out and look at our lives as a whole that we can truly appreciate how remarkable it is.
Is it time for you to zoom out a little?
If you know someone who would benefit from reading this, please forward it to them. It may change the trajectory of their life for the better, and the catalyst could be you.
