Why Can’t It Be You?
Maybe what's holding you back is that you've never seen it done before.
But more likely, it's that you've never seen it done by anyone close enough to you to make it feel possible.
Think about it.
Perhaps nobody in your family has ever truly prioritised their health and fitness.
Perhaps nobody in your circle of friends has ever turned their back on a safe career to build something of their own.
Perhaps nobody close to you has ever walked away from a relationship that was quietly making them miserable.
And because you've never watched someone within arm's reach do it, some part of you has quietly decided that it isn't for people like you.
Here's something worth understanding about self-doubt…
It has far more to do with degrees of separation than you realise.
When something has never been done by anyone close to you, it feels impossible. When you watch someone right beside you do it, it suddenly feels within reach. The thing itself never changed - only your proximity to someone who proved it could be done.
Which means the belief that you can't is often just evidence that you haven't seen it done up close yet.
And the antidote to that kind of self-doubt is simple.
Courage.
You probably already knew that.
But knowing it isn't the point. Acting on it is.
Because someone has to be the first.
Someone in your family has to be the first to prioritise their health.
Someone in your circle has to be the first to bet on themselves.
Someone has to be the one who breaks the pattern that everyone around them has quietly accepted.
That person may as well be you.
You can be the one who shows the people close to you that it's actually possible.
The one who collapses the distance between "nobody I know has done that" and "someone right next to me just did."
Because the moment you do it, you change what's possible for everyone watching you.
Your kids.
Your friends.
Your family.
The people who needed to see it done by someone close to them, just like you once did.
Courage is a small price to pay to become that person.
The first one.
The proof.
The one who showed everyone else that it may as well be them too.
If you know someone who would benefit from reading this, please forward it to them. It may change the trajectory of their life for the better, and the catalyst could be you.
