AI Isn’t Slowing Down. Have You Kept Up?

AI Isn’t Slowing Down. Have You Kept Up?

Less than a year ago, I wrote an email titled “AI Is Coming For Your Job” (go search for it in your inbox if you need a reminder... it was Daily Blog #181).

Ten months later, that statement has only become more true.

AI is moving faster now than it was then.

The tools are better.
The outputs are better.
The adoption is broader.

And the consequences of ignoring it are becoming harder to ignore.

Just look at the major tech and corporate layoffs already announced this year… Meta, Atlassian, Amazon, Block, Pinterest… just to name a few.

That is not random. That is the market adjusting to a new reality.

And here’s the uncomfortable question…

How much have you actually adapted over the last 10 months?

Not how much have you talked about it.
Not how much have you watched from a distance.
Not how many podcasts or headlines you’ve consumed.

How much have you actually changed the way you work?

Because the people who are treating AI like a novelty are falling behind the people who are treating it like a tool.

And that gap is only going to widen.
Faster than 10 months ago.
Faster than 6 months ago.
Faster than a month ago.

AI does not need to replace everyone. It only needs to make one person dramatically more effective than the people around them.

And that is already happening.

One person using AI properly can now:
Write faster.
Research faster.
Analyse faster.
Create faster.
Think broader.
Execute quicker.
And eliminate hours of low-value work every single week.

So the question is no longer “Is AI going to matter in my industry?”

That question is dead.

The real question is “Am I using AI enough to stay competitive?”

Because if you’re not, someone else is. And they’re going to get faster while you stay the same.

This is not fear-mongering. It’s just reality. And I feel a sense of duty to help keep it in the front of your mind.

The good news is you do not need to become a tech genius overnight. But you do need to get honest.

Where are you still doing things manually that AI could help with?
Where are you still wasting hours on tasks that could be compressed into minutes?
Where are you resisting change just because it feels unfamiliar?

That is where your next growth edge is.

So let this be your reminder, once again.

Do not bury your head in the sand.
Do not assume your experience alone will protect you.
Do not wait until adaptation becomes survival.

Get curious.
Get practical.
Start using the tools.
Start buying back time.
Start increasing your value.

Because AI isn’t slowing down.

And whether you like it or not, the people who learn to work with it are going to outperform the people who don’t.

If you know someone who would benefit from reading this, please forward it to them. It may change the trajectory of their life for the better, and the catalyst could be you.
