Busyness Is The Most Socially Acceptable Form Of Avoidance
Ask someone how work’s been...
“Busy”.
That's the standard response.
Busy with emails.
Busy with meetings.
Busy with day to day recurring tasks.
Busy with small things that pretend to be productive.
And because busyness takes effort, it rarely gets questioned.
But busyness often hides something else.
Avoidance.
Avoiding the hard conversation.
Avoiding the important decision.
Avoiding the work that actually moves things forward.
So instead, days fill with safe activity.
Low risk.
Low discomfort.
Low progress.
It feels productive.
But it isn’t.
If your day today feels busy, pause and ask yourself one question…
“What am I staying busy to avoid?”
Identify it.
Do it.
Because progress is rarely disguised as busyness.
