"Fuck This, Fuck Them" Energy Doesn’t Last

"Fuck This, Fuck Them" Energy Doesn’t Last

There are two kinds of energy you can run on.

If you don't learn the difference, it will cost you over time.

The first is dark energy.

The “fuck this, fuck them” energy. The fuel you tap into when you’ve been doubted, dismissed, overlooked, or underestimated. When someone told you that you couldn’t, and something in you decided to prove them wrong.

It burns hot.
It burns fast.
And it will drive you through walls you’d never break down otherwise.

But here’s what you have to understand about it.

Dark energy is firewood soaked in gasoline.

It explodes into flame. Then it’s gone.

The fire that felt unstoppable an hour ago is ash by morning.

It was never built to last. It was built to detonate.

That doesn’t make it useless. Far from it.

Sometimes you need that raw, aggressive push.
Sometimes the fastest way through a wall is pure spite.
Sometimes you genuinely do need to prove someone wrong, and that fire is exactly what gets it done.

But try to run your whole life on it, and it will hollow you out.

Because dark energy has a cost.

It ties your drive to other people.

It keeps you looking backwards at who doubted you instead of forwards at who you’re inspiring.

And when the people you were burning against finally fade from view, the fuel goes with them.

You cannot build a life that lasts on a fire that was designed to burn out.

Which is where the second energy comes in.

Light energy.

It’s calmer. Steadier. Quieter.

It’s the energy of proving yourself right, instead of proving someone else wrong. Of showing what’s possible rather than settling a score. Of building because you love what you’re building, not because someone said you couldn’t.

Light energy doesn’t explode. It doesn’t give you that violent surge dark energy does.

But it burns for decades.

It’s still lit long after the spite has died.
It’s there on the ordinary days when nobody’s watching and there’s no one to prove anything to.
It’s the fuel that actually carries you to the top, and then keeps you there once you arrive.

Because dark energy can get you to the mountain. But only light energy keeps you on it.

That doesn't mean that you have to pick only one. You don't.

Both matter. Both have their place. The skill isn’t choosing between them, it’s knowing which one to use, and when.

There are moments that call for the dark. When you’ve been knocked down and you need to get up furious. When you need a violent burst of energy to break through something that patience won’t move.

Burn dark. Use the fire. There’s no shame in it.

But you can’t live there. The moment that fire has done its job, you have to switch.

You have to transition from proving them wrong to proving yourself right.
From avenging to building.
From burning against something to burning toward something.

Because the wrong fuel at the wrong time is what burns you out.

Think of the person running on spite for a decade, wondering why they feel empty at the top. Then think of the person waiting for calm inspiration to break through a wall that only fury could move.

Both are using the right fuel at the wrong time. And both pay for it.

The right fuel at the right time? That changes everything.

Burn dark when you have to.

Burn light so you can last.

And learn the difference before it costs you the fire altogether.

If you know someone who would benefit from reading this, please forward it to them. It may change the trajectory of their life for the better, and the catalyst could be you.
