You Don’t Need More Time. You Need More Courage.

You Don’t Need More Time. You Need More Courage.

There’s a decision you’ve been putting off.

You’ve told yourself you need more time.

More information.
More certainty before you commit.

So you wait. You research a little more. You turn it over again. You tell yourself you’re being diligent.

But be honest with yourself for a second...

Is it really more time you need? Or is it courage?

Because there’s a point in almost every decision where you’ve gathered what you need.

You know the options.
You understand the trade-offs.
The evidence is in.

And past that point, more time doesn’t make the decision easier. It makes it harder.

The longer you sit with it, the more scenarios your mind invents. The more “what ifs” pile up. The more the fear compounds.

You don’t gain clarity by waiting. You gain hesitation dressed up as thoroughness.

That’s the trap.

Calling it due diligence when it’s actually just avoidance.
Telling yourself you’re being careful when you’re really just scared to commit.

And here’s what’s most concerning...

More time has become the most socially acceptable excuse for a lack of courage.

Nobody questions it.

“I’m still thinking it through” sounds responsible. It buys you sympathy instead of scrutiny.

Meanwhile, the decision sits there unmade, quietly costing you.

But at some point, the research is done. And all that’s left is the part that was always going to be hard.

Choosing.

You have to draw a line in the sand and pick a path.

Not the perfect path, because you’ll never know for certain which one that was.

Just a path. Chosen with conviction, and seen through.

One of my favourite sayings is this…

You will never know the consequences of the decisions you don’t make.

Sit with that for a second.

The path you didn’t take has no outcome. It’s a ghost. You can spend the rest of your life asking “what if I’d done the other thing?” and you will never, ever get an answer. That question has no floor. It just echoes.

The courage isn’t in finding the guaranteed right answer. That answer doesn’t exist at the moment of decision. It only reveals itself afterwards, once you’ve committed and lived it out.

The courage is in choosing without the guarantee.

In picking the path, backing yourself, and accepting that the consequences a good, bad, or somewhere in between - are yours to own.

Because a decision made with courage and seen through will always take you further than a decision endlessly delayed in the name of certainty that was never coming.

So whatever you’ve been sitting on, waiting for the perfect moment or the final piece of information that makes it feel safe, stop waiting.

You already have what you need.

Draw the line.

Pick the path.

And find the courage to walk it.

If you know someone who would benefit from reading this, please forward it to them. It may change the trajectory of their life for the better, and the catalyst could be you.
